Easy Morning Makeup Routine... For Busy Women. By Celebrity Makeup Artist

Today I'm responding to one of my most common requests...
Here's your Easy Morning Makeup Routine...

Polished makeup does not need to be a hundred products and 30+ minutes. (I mean who has thirty minutes for makeup in this day and age?)

I've distilled this list down to the highest-impact, most vital products that make the biggest different to get polished and confident in the morning

As makeup artist to the stars, I can literally use these same seven or ao products and have a celebrity TV ready in minutes….  You can do this for you, too!

Here’s the Powerful Basics:

  • Eyeliner-  Ensure it’s opaque, with no shimmer, and sets so it stays put all day. A quick tip: avoid using moisturizer or oil-based products before applying eyeliner—they act like makeup remover and can sabotage your look.  Blend edges using the Smudger  Brush for a youthful look.
  • 1 x Eyeshadow (optional)
Most women can get away with just one eyeshadow. It’s a myth that you need a full palette.  Apply using the Smolder Brush
I often smudge my eyeliner as eyeshadow and save the actual eyeshadow for special occasions. Watch how I do it here.
  • Foundation - I have a whole class on foundation, but I like to use a TINY bit of high coverage foundation, then spread it FAR using the Magic Foundation Brush.  This means you don't have to pile it on.  It doesn't slip slide everywhere and it doesn't look caked on.
  • Luminizer-  This gem adds The Perfect Glow, making your look more polished and radiant without appearing cakey. prevents makeup from looking to makeupy or cakey.  Apply with ring finger or Magic Foundation Brush
  • Lip Liner - Blend it until it looks good enough to wear on its own.
  • Lip balm orlipstick- For those times you want to look “made up” wear lipstick. But for a simple polished look, nude colours are perfect. Just make sure your lip liner is well blended before applying.
  • Blush - Blush adds life - like you’ve just been for a run.  Apply
  • Optional:Mascara- most days I don’t bother with mascara. Mostly because I can hardly be bothered removing it at the end of the day.  If our eyeliner is on point, we may save our mascara for “special days” or when we have time.
  • Cptional: Concealer: If we need a bit of help under the eyes etc.

The real secret to polished makeup isGood Brushes!

Even the best makeup in the world doesn’t apply itself. For a smooth, even, and flawless finish, you need quality brushes.

Take a look at my cult-favorite brushes here...

My brushes are professional quality brushes but especially designed for personal use:

  • Extreme Quality hair - The hair, the shape, the density, all have decades of experience to get the smoothest application in the shortest possible time.
  • Short handles - allow you to get right up close to a mirror and also to easily fit in your purse.
  • Multi-use - As a makeup artist I have a couple hundred brushes - each for a specific purpose, but that won’t cut it for personal use. Each of my brushes is designed both for a very specific purpose but to also be the most versatile and multi-use. A whole face of makeup can be done using 5 or so brushes!

Now, What You Probably DON’T Need:

Of course everyone’s needs are different however in most cases on myself and my celebrities I rarely use the below, if ever.

  • Primer - not only do most primers actually not help makeup last longer, may actually work against you
  • Heavy moisturizer - the closer you et to clean skin to apply makeup, the better and more long lasting results.
Despite popular belief we want to work the makeup into our skin and moisturizer and primer provide a barrier that stops this.
  • Contour - I rarely use contour even on my celebrity clients. I mostly only use it when making up very young models, for catwalk/ runways. For one thing, it’s aging. It carves out/ sinks the bone structure, but as we age our skin sinks into our bone structure. It can definitely work on some but it’s the exception than the rule.
  • Setting Powder
  • Setting spray
  • A bunch of eyeshadows
  • BB cream
  • CC cream
  • Tinted Moisturizer - need to pile it on to get coverage - which means cakey looking or moving into creases
  • Serum Foundation
Extra Tip for Extra Flawless Polish:
Spend an extra few seconds blending foundation and eyeshadow using the Magic Foundation Brush and beautiful eye makeup brushes.

Big love,

Jacqueline
